Our HistoryLittlestown Christian Academy was founded in 1992. It was born out of a fervent desire to see children educated to think and act Biblically. It quickly grew to more than 250 students in grades preschool through twelve. Its rapid growth was proof that families in Adams County and the surrounding area were seeking a quality Christian education for their children.

Though the commitment never left, the school struggled as most emerging endeavors do. The enrollment dropped and the foundations of the program were shaken. However, the Pastoral staff and congregation of Bethel Assembly of God refused to dismiss their conviction for Christian education. The School Board and many faculty members remained committed to the mission that God had set before them. Under the pastoral leadership of Debra D'Ambrosia and the administrative leadership of Patricia Lewis, LCA was able to get a footing. In the summer of 2003 a decision was made to reduce the class offerings to kindergarten through eighth grade. This difficult decision was, in reality, a decision of new vision; a commitment to building a strong foundation that would secure the ministry of LCA for future generations.

In the summer of 2004 Pastor Ivan Cornwell joined the staff as pastor and administrator of LCA. With many years of experience in Christian school education, Pastor Cornwell brought new energy and focus to the the school. Immediate steps were taken to determine the philosophy, mission, and vision of LCA. Teacher and staff development became a priority. Steps were taken to secure the financial security of the school. Finally, the faculty and administration initiated an intense look at the curriculum offered at LCA.

In the spring of 2006 a renewed commitment was made to take visionary steps necessary for expansion. With the opening of the new Children's Ministry wing in the winter of 2008, LCA has expanded its preschool offerings to include ages 3 - 5 with the potential for a year round program. Additionally, the decision was made to seek God's help to reestablish the high school. Though the high school is small, in 2011, LCA will once again have a new graduate. We plan to have many more graduating classes in the years to come.
