Grade Four
We read the Bible to learn God's will,
So in wisdom and theology our spirits fill.
In spelling we study for correct order of letters,
And rewrite the list to help us to get better.
All letters are based on three cursive strokes,
Proper paper, pencil and posture are no jokes!
To help us to increase the height of our classroom herbs
We study diligently helping and past tense verbs.
Writing a multi-paragraph essay will surely
Help to verbally facilitate what we say.
Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing,
Help us increase our skills so answers will not be hiding.
Novels, poetry, stories and drills to read,
To help increase our comprehension, yes indeed!
Science will be the method of our inquiry style
With experiments galore in the plants and animals file.
Our victorious conquest of multitudes of maps
Will put all fifty states and the world in our laps!
Dates, graphs, events and many bold timelines,
Will help to insure that in history we're not behind.
And then, of course, many special classes exist,
Art, gym, music, recorders, and Chapel are on the list!
The Fourth Grade theme for the month of September is "Welcome back!" In Bible, we are involved in memory work, maintaining our Prayer Journals, doing a Bible Explorer Bible study and reading our Bibles along with having the highly popular Bible Sword Drills! In English class we are examining the four kinds of sentences and will be learning how to write a personal narrative. Addition and subtraction facts are the goal in math so drill, drill, and more drill! Pupils may practice their math fact drills by using the following website Math Fact Practice. Following a brief introduction of what science is we will embark once again on the insect world. In health we are getting a basic comprehension of the skeletal and muscular systems and then relating it to our Physical Education class. It is truly a treasure to see how students are developing a Biblical Worldview by being able to see God in every subject that we study!
