LCA Online
LCA Online was birthed in 2007 out of our desire to leverage the educational and technological expertise represented in our staff, to more fully use the computer and network capabilities we have in our facility, and, most importantly, to meet specific student needs that could otherwise not be met. Since that time, starting with only one student, the program and its offerings have continued to grow. Now, through our partnership with Alpha Omega Publications, we can offer over 60 courses online.
LCA Online High School
LCA Online offers a comprehensive high school program through "virtual education." This rigorous program provides education in the five major course areas - Bible, Language Arts, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Social Studies. In addition, many electives are available to students. "Attendance" is tracked by the school. Students must submit their attendance on every scheduled school day. Yet, students can access their courses 24/7 in the comfort of their home, at a local library, or on our campus in our virtual learning center. Students in this program are fully enrolled students of Littlestown Christian Academy and upon completion of the program will receive their high school diploma. For more information go to our LCA Online High School webpage.
LCA Online Affiliate Students
Our reach has gone beyond students enrolled in The Academy, and our LCA Online High School we now offer courses to Affiliate Students in the following ways:
- Bible classes for high school students attending other schools
- Homeschool courses for students in grades 3-12
- Adult Online Bible, GED Prep, and Business/Computer training
An LCA Affiliate Student is a part-time student in grades 3 -12 or an adult student. Affiliate students can take up to four online courses at a time without having to apply for full admission to LCA Online. Homeschool students may also take some face to face courses offered on our campus.
Students will be provided grades and official transcripts for the courses they take, but affiliate students are not enrolled as full-time students and their participation does not meet the state standards for school attendance and curricular requirements.
Courses taken through LCA Online are taught by LCA staff and are developed by Alpha Omega Publications. All high school courses taken can be used to meet high school graduation standards at Littlestown Christian Academy which is recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Though LCA Online courses are fully developed and recognized academic courses, LCA cannot guarantee that credits earned will transfer to other high schools or other states.
