The Life of Christ
In studying the life of Christ, we will learn about the historical, cultural and religious period into which Jesus was born. We will evaluate the various perspectives of the four gospels and gain an understanding of the chronology of the life of Jesus and His impact on the culture of that time. The gospel accounts and other historical records will be used.
Course Objectives
As a disciple of Jesus Christ, an LCA student:
• Will be a student of God’s word, specifically the gospels that tell of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
• Will know the historical Jesus, His birth, life, teachings, actions, death, and resurrection.
• Will come to know Jesus as their personal Savior, and how He, as the Son of God, is our Prophet, Priest and King.
• Will acknowledge Jesus as an example of life and godliness and will choose to model their lives after His.
Enabling Course Objectives
• The student will understand the purpose and background of each of the four gospels.
• The student will know and be able to list the chronological order of the major events of Jesus’ life.
• The student will have a general understanding of the teachings of Jesus and be able to discuss them and apply them personally.
• The student will have a general understanding of the acts of Jesus and be able to describe them and discuss their significance.
• The student will be able to communicate Jesus’ purpose for coming to the earth.
• The student will grow in faith by acquiring knowledge that is grounded in the word of God.
