Our Expected Outcomes

LCA Discipleship Objectives

As a disciple of Jesus Christ, an LCA student . . .

  • will Worship God. He is determined to increasingly recognize, experience, and practice the presence of God with awe and reverence, loving God, thereby developing a personal relationship with God - in doing so, become a lover of God (Ps 16:11, 29:2, 32:6a, 89:15-16, 99:9, 100:2, Isa 41:10, Jer 29:11-14a, Matt 28:20b, John 4:23-24).
  • will live in Fellowship. He is determined to humbly submit to authority, cooperatively work with others, effectively lead when called upon and compassionately serve out of love; contributing to the advancement of his family, his community and the Church of Jesus Christ - in doing so, become a peacemaker  (Mark 9:35, Acts 2:42-47, Rom 12:4-5, Gal 5:13, Col 3:12-14, 1 Pet 4:10, 5:2-3, 1 John 1:3-4).
  • will be a Disciple and in turn disciple others. He is determined to grow in character, wisdom and the knowledge of God, His Word, and His creation and pass it on to the next generation - in doing so, become conformed to the image of Christ Jesus (Gen 5:1-2, Ps 139:13-14, Neh 9:6, Isa 45:18, John 14:6-7, Rom 1:20, Eph 1:17, Phil 3:10-11, Jas 1:5).
  • will be a good Steward. He is determined to live a life of integrity and productivity, properly appropriating his time, talents and resources, guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit- in doing so, become God's regent on earth (Gen 1:27-28, Prov 10:9, 11:3, 12:14, Luke 16:10-12, Eph 2:10, Col 3:23-24, Tit 2:7-8).
  • will be an Evangelist. He is determined to reflect the love, mercy, and grace of God to the world through his words and actions thereby advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ, purposefully sharing his faith - in doing so, become a witnes of the Gospel (Ps 22:30-31, Isa 52:7, Matt 5:13-16, 28:19-20, Mark 1:14-18, 16:15-16, Acts 1:8, Acts 5:42).

LCA Academic Objectives

 

As a disciple of Jesus Christ an LCA student . . .

  • is a student of the Bible, knowing God and the Biblical doctrines foundational to the Christian faith, making God’s Word a guide to Biblical faith and action. This is the domain of Theology.
  • communicates and discerns truth through careful listening, thoughtful speech, critical reading, and proficient writing. This is the domain of Language Arts.
  • recognizes God’s order in creation and acts justly towards others by being able to accurately quantify, order, calculate, and appropriate time, finances, space, information and other resources. This is the domain of Mathematics.
  • gleans knowledge and wisdom from history, understanding his proper role in his family, church and community, developing Biblical character that will result in love for God and his neighbor. This is the domain of Social Science.
  • knows God through His creation, is a good steward of the earth and its resources, cooperates with God’s design in the process, using his knowledge and understanding of our world for the benefit of others. This is the domain of Natural Science.
  • is creative, able to express his thoughts and feelings in music, dance, drama and the visual arts, edifying others and worshiping God. This is the domain of Fine Arts.
  • knows that his body belongs to the Lord and should be treated with care and dignity as the temple of the Holy Spirit, practicing a healthy lifestyle. This is the domain of Physical Fitness.
  • uses technology and research methods to acquire, interpret, and proclaim the knowledge of God and His creation. This is the domain of Applied Technologies.
