Admissions at LCA
We are excited that you are interested in admission to one of our programs at Littlestown Christian Academy. Everything you need to complete the admissions process for our programs can be found on the individual program pages, but before you visit those pages please read the admissions overview below.
We view the admissions process to our programs as a very important beginning to a long and lasting relationship. Since our philosophy of education recognizes the Biblical place of the family in God’s plan we admit families, not simply students. The admissions process is meant to assure that the school’s program and the family’s needs and expectations are a good match. Families who are looking for an authentic Christian education rooted in Biblical discipleship are choosing LCA for the right reasons. In addition, we seek students who work with diligence and have an enthusiasm for learning. Working together, family, student, and school, we can see life changing successes for the glory of God. Ask yourself the following questions. They will assist you in determining if LCA is the school for your family.
Are you seeking an authentic Christian education?Parental involvement in the education of their child is vital. The application for admission asks the parents to declare in writing their relationship to Jesus Christ and comment on their church attendance so that we understand a family’s commitment to Christ and His Church. The parents should read our Statement of Faith and Family School Covenant and be willing to have their child educated accordingly. In addition, the parents must understand the importance of cooperating with the school in the discipline and instruction of their child which includes the decision of grade placement. Families must be willing to meet their financial obligations to the school and support the school with their prayers and gifts as the Lord prompts them. Students applying for middle school and high school must have made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, having accepted Him as their Lord and Savior.
Is your child ready for the challenge? With the exception of students entering The Eagle's Nest Preschool, all prospective students applying for admission to Littlestown Christian Academy must take an entrance screening or provide nationally normed achievement test results so a determination can be made as to a student’s readiness for our academic program. Additionally, we believe strongly in providing a developmentally appropriate education for our youngest students. Therefore, students in the preschool program must be of age for their particular program by September 1. Students entering grades 1 and above must have successfully completed the prior grade and academic records from the prior school must be provided for proper evaluation.
Is Littlestown Christian Academy right for your family?LCA may not be the proper school for all families. At times the academic requirements and the unique Christian culture of LCA may not suit a family or a student. The admissions process is intended to honestly and forthrightly determine together if a family and LCA are a good match. At least one parent, preferably both, along with the child will interview with the administration. That interview will include discussions about the philosophy of LCA, the child’s academic readiness, the child’s ability to acclimate themselves to the classroom environment, and the family’s commitment to their responsibilities as it relates to Christian education. Acceptance into the program is at the discretion of the administration and may be limited due to availability of class space.
Littlestown Christian Academy's statement of nondescriminationLittlestown Christian Academy admits students of any race, color or national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
